Heart Disease and Defects: Encouragement to make a difference

After 40 years of living with a congenital heart defect, I finally had it repaired. My goal now is to help provide heart information useful for you, your friends, and your family. My view has been formed through my experiences with an ASD and cleft mitral valve. It is also from my perspective as a trained therapist. As a result of my expereinces, I have become a Spokesperson for Womenheart and a Representative for ACHA. I have learned that the only way things change is if we are part of the solution. So I politely ask- what are you and your family doing to improve the lives of the over 8 million women living with heart disease? And the 1.8 million living with congenital heart defects?
